Privacy Policy

Effective 17 October 2026

This policy explains what information Ja-Lee (“we”, “us”) collects through this website, ja-lee.com, and what we do with it. Our customer portal at portal.ja-lee.com, and the Ja-Lee Mapper app that works with it, have their own privacy policy.

The short version

  • We only collect what you type into the “Email us” form, and the technical details any website receives.
  • We use it to answer you and to keep the site safe. We don’t sell it or use it for advertising.
  • The site has no analytics, advertising trackers or social-media plugins, and sets one cookie, only for the contact form.
  • Ask us at [email protected] to see, correct or delete what we hold about you.

What we collect

When you email us

The “Email us” form asks for your name, your email address and your message. When you send it, they’re emailed to our team at [email protected], so we can reply to you.

To stop spam, the form also checks that a person sent it. We keep a note of when messages were sent from each connection, for at most a day, under a scrambled (one-way hashed) form of your IP address rather than the address itself. Our email log records when each message was sent, who it went to and its subject line, which includes the name you entered. It never includes your message.

When you visit

Like every website, ours receives some technical information when you visit: your IP address, your browser and device type, the pages you request and when. Our web server keeps these records for 14 days, to keep the site running and secure.

If you choose “Tilt to explore” on a phone, the page uses your phone’s motion sensors to move the 3D picture. That happens only on your device; nothing about it is sent to us.

Cookies

The site sets one cookie, jl_site, which makes the contact form work securely by tying the form to your visit. It isn’t used to track you, and it’s deleted when you close your browser. We don’t use advertising or analytics cookies. Cloudflare, which protects the site (see below), may set its own security cookies, for example to tell people from automated traffic.

How we use it

  • To read and reply to your message.
  • To run the site, keep it secure and stop spam and abuse.
  • To meet our legal obligations.

We don’t sell or rent your information, share it for advertising, or use it to build marketing profiles.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers that help us run the site, and only for that purpose:

  • Cloudflare, which carries traffic to the site and protects it from attacks, so it handles your connection and IP address.
  • Our hosting provider, whose servers in the United States run the site.
  • Our email provider, which delivers contact-form messages to our inbox.
  • Google Fonts: your browser downloads the site’s typeface from Google, which receives your IP address when it does.

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect people’s safety or our rights, or with a buyer or successor if our business changes hands. In that case this policy would still apply to what you’ve already given us.

How long we keep it

  • Messages you send us stay in our email for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and keep our business records.
  • Web server records: 14 days.
  • Spam-protection records: one day.
  • Our email log keeps the short record described above, for troubleshooting.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing [email protected]. We may need to confirm it’s really you first. Depending on where you live, you may have other rights under privacy laws; we’ll honor them as those laws require.

Security

The site only runs over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and access to messages and records is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but if a security breach ever affects your information, we’ll tell you as the law requires.

Children

This site isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child has sent us information, let us know and we’ll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll say so on the site.
